Yoon S. Byun is currently a staff photographer at The Boston Globe and is accepting freelance work.

His work has been recognized by POYi (2006 Community Awareness Award), Magenta (2006 Flash Forward Honorable Mention), CPOY (2005 Silver Portfolio, Gold Portrait, Gold Picture Story, and 2006 Gold Feature, Silver Documentary), Epson Art, and was a SHOTS presenter at the first annual Festival of the Photograph.

Yoon enjoys meeting people and making pictures. He loves to tell a good story.

He has lived in five countries and lived in over a dozen cities, but tells people he's from New York. He claims he's "conversational" in 5 languages. When people doubt him, he karate chops them in the neck.
